Traffic Generation
There are a host of traffic generation techniques.
I have tried to give an indication of some of them on the following pages.
Instant Traffic Expert
I can tell you only so much here that you can implement for free. However, since I first wrote up these page Stephen Pierce has produced what must be the 'Mother of all traffic products'. It is the most comprehensive pack of step by step instruction covering every conceivable traffic generating strategy and it's called Instant Traffic Expert. You will find it at www.instanttrafficexpert.com and it comes with my most wholehearted recommendation.
I sat in on most of the teleseminars on each of the strategies and it blew our minds then. The finished product with process maps for each individual strategy is even better. I am a great believer in process maps myself as they provide clear logical steps to the work you need to do. One tip: you will find that many of them are too large for your standard printer and need to go on A3 paper. A trip to your local print shop will get you a high quality print onto the right size paper and then laminate so you can pin them to your wall as a constant reference.
Submission Service
Many traffic generating strategies require you to submit your content onto multiple sites. Whether it is articles, videos, podcasts or whatever. This can become time consuming and remember that this is not marketing but just admin and is eating into your productive marketing time. One solution is to outsource it - but then you have the problem of managing your contractor. Alternatively, you might try EasyPushButtonTraffic. This service is pricey at $97/month but gives you a single access point where you can submit all your material in one place and still keep personal control over the process. Worth a thought.
Software applications
There are also specific software application with the same objective of generating traffic. However, bear in mind that the search engines are becoming increasingly capable of discovering and negating software solutions that do not provide unique, relevant content. So I would suggest that you do not touch these unless you are very sure of what you are doing.
Traffic Hurricane
Traffic Hurricane is one of the most successful affiliate programmes on the internet. You can use it to generate traffic for your own website, for affiliates, for CPA. And what's best is that the sites you create can all carry Adsense, Amazon ads or any other sort of ad you like.
..AND you can give it away to others - who can use it to generate traffic to their sites for free, while your Adsense and other ads remain in place in exchange for their free use of the software. So you get advertising real estate in places you would never imagine!
This is an example of a banner for a website of mine that is carried on the sites of every person who has received free use of the Traffic Hurricane software that I have given them. It's a win, win situation all around.
..AND if free users decide to upgrade then you get affiliate commission. AND.., AND…

Hi Bruce,
Your website is terrific. Its really well presented and the information you gave in the website was really very useful to me. Thank You very much for that. I just need to know a few things:
1. Can you let me know an efficient technique (or any good software) which can drive me targeted meaningful traffic to my blog or website in the least possible time. Please give my any suggestions other than article submissions.
Thanks for that, Bruce,
We can never have enough traffic generators.
I agree with the comment above, your website/blog is truly stunning, well-presented and informative - it's my encylopedia.
Cheers,
Gloria

If you have participated in the Traffic Webinars over the last 2 days you will have seen that Commenting and Trackbacks are very powerful in generating relevant traffic.
You sound negative about Articles. But these are actually very effective and cumulative. Their effect will actually last longer than the Commenting and Trackbacks on blogs because you are making a permanent contribution to web content on other people's websites.

Bruce
